Common Dental Emergencies

A variety of conditions count as dental emergencies. Here are just a few things that may require emergency dental care in Vermillion.

Cracked, Broken, Loose, Missing Teeth

If you’re hit in the face while playing sports, slip and fall, or have any other accident that results in dental trauma, you have experienced a dental emergency. Loose or knocked-out teeth should be replaced within 1-2 hours at most, and broken or damaged teeth are very painful and pose an infection risk. Contact us for a same-day appointment right away to have your tooth splinted or repaired with a dental crown.

Toothache, Pain & Sensitivity

Any serious toothache, pain, or sensitivity that won’t go away could indicate an infected tooth, or a very decayed, damaged, and vulnerable tooth that may become infected soon. Dr. Randy can help with root canal therapy and dental crowns to restore your smile and eliminate your discomfort.

Loose Or Missing Crowns & Fillings

A loose or pulled-out crown or filling is not quite as urgent as a damaged tooth, but should still be replaced soon. The underlying tooth will be more vulnerable to decay and damage, and missing or loose dental work can also cause tooth sensitivity and discomfort.

Cuts & Lacerations

If you have serious cuts to your tongue, lips, cheeks, or gums and bleeding does not slow within about 30-45 minutes, you may need stitches and care from an emergency dentist. This ensures your mouth heals properly and that the cuts do not become infected.

This dentist and his staff are amazing.  I was traveling from Pa  and broke a tooth. They got me in, extracted the tooth and were very reasonably priced. The staff and dentist answered all questions  and were great. I cant say enough good about them.

My experience here has been without a doubt the best experience I have ever had with a dental office.  Everyone here is friendly and they recognized me on my second visit!  Questions are answered and concerns are addressed in a friendly manner.
